چکیده
Purpose: The brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens, is one of the most serious insect pests rice (Oryza sativa L.) in South and East Asia also parts Pacific Australia. BPH, like other insects, able to build up powerful innate immune responses against invading pathogens cellular immunity mediated by haemocytes. Hence, an attempt was made investigate detailed microscopic analysis haemocytes BPH. Research Method: study primarily concerned with haemocyte profile BPH emphasis on changes total differential population three different life stages; 5th nympal stadium, newly emerged adults (post-moulting adult 1-3 days old) matured (15 for insight physiological events during morphogenesis Findings: According light examinations, haemogram comprised six types viz. prohaemocytes (PRs), plasmatocytes (PLs), granulocytes (GRs), adipohaemocyte (ADs) oenocytoids (OEs) spherulocytes (SPs). It estimated that mean numbers count are varied from 6096.4 7393.6 cells per mm3 haemolymph stages insects it statistically increased mature adults. PLs, GRs PRs abundant all development while SPs scarcest type. Originality/value: To our knowledge, this first report has detected these data valuable future avenues immunological research

An adenylyl cyclase like-9 gene (NlAC9) influences growth and fecundity in the brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens (Stål) (Hemiptera: Delphacidae)
The cAMP/PKA intracellular signaling pathway is launched by adenylyl cyclase (AC) conversion of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to 3', 5'-cyclic AMP (cAMP) and cAMP-dependent activation of PKA. Although this pathway is very well known in insect physiology, there is little to no information on it in some very small pest insects, such as the brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens Stål. BPH is a...
متن کاملSilencing a sugar transporter gene reduces growth and fecundity in the brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens (Stål) (Hemiptera: Delphacidae)
The brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens, sugar transporter gene 6 (Nlst6) is a facilitative glucose/fructose transporter (often called a passive carrier) expressed in midgut that mediates sugar transport from the midgut lumen to hemolymph. The influence of down regulating expression of sugar transporter genes on insect growth, development, and fecundity is unknown. Nonetheless, it is re...
متن کاملDevelopment and characterization of nine polymorphic microsatellites for the small brown planthopper Laodelphax striatellus (Hemiptera: Delphacidae).
Nine microsatellite loci were isolated from the genome of Laodelphax striatellus (Homoptera: Delphacidae) by constructing (TC)(6)(AC)(5) and (AG)(6)(AC)(5) compound SSR-enriched libraries using suppression-PCR procedures. These loci were found to be highly polymorphic, with 13 to 30 alleles per locus in the three populations that we investigated (Jiangsu, Shandong and Zhejiang). The observe...

Chinese species in the genus Nycheuma Fennah, 1964a (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha: Delphacidae: Delphacinae: Delphacini) are revised to include three species: Nycheumacognatum (Muir, 1917), Nycheumadimorpha (Matsumura, 1910) and Nycheumanilotica Linnavuori, 1973. Nycheumacoctum Yang, 1989 is placed in synonymy with Nycheumanilotica Linnavuori, 1973. Nycheumadimorpha (Matsumura, 1910) is newly recor...

BACKGROUND The brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens (Stål), is a serious pest that causes enormous losses to the rice crop in Asia. The genetic basis of imidacloprid resistance was investigated in N. lugens. RESULTS The resistant strain, selected for imidacloprid resistance from a field population of N. lugens collected from Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China, showed a 964-fold resistance comp...
